Ummm.. Okay then... I still don't get it...

The report was generated with the following birth data: female, born on 26 September 1971 at 3:17 pm in Santa Monica, California.

Your sun sign is Libra. This is the sign in which the Sun is in your birth chart. Your Ascendant is in Capricorn, and your Moon is in Sagittarius.

Partner references which may occur in the text are set for a relationship with a man. Explanation

Sun in Libra, Moon in Sagittarius

An intellectual, you are usually preoccupied with ideas. However, you rarely seek knowledge for its own sake. You tend to be didactic and try to convert others to your ideas.

In defending your ideas you display all the strength of a zealot. Fortunately, your well- developed judgment tells you exactly where your opinions are not welcome. You are by nature straightforward and don't profess to be more than you are. Your genuine concern for people inclines you toward social work. It is difficult for you to restrain yourself, and your better judgment is often hidden beneath the flash of some new and not-too-wise inspiration. But you are a harmonious individual - that is, no serious conflict exists between idea and action, between what you appear to be and what you are.

Ascendant in Capricorn, Saturn in the Fifth House

At the time of your birth the zodiacal sign of Capricorn was ascending in the horizon. Its ruler Saturn is located in the fifth house.

The sign of Capricorn denotes an existence in which temperament is very important. You will give an image of ambition, persistence, will power, consistency and perseverance. You were born with the tendencies to seek material, social, and, perhaps, even political power.

Capricorn tends to a challenging life which forces you to exert all your resources in order to triumph. Because of your tact and prudence, you will be favored with the good will of important people.

Your mind is egocentric, rational and you have a natural tendency toward scepticism. Able to work hard, you will bear obstacles and frustrations with patience.

You will proceed with prudence in your love life and in all other activities. You will seriously consider all of the ramifications of a relationship, especially the aspects of your independence, and you will not commit yourself to a partner until you are sure of your choice. After that however there is a tendency to conduct a peaceful and quiet life.

You are very economical in your daily activities, and if you do not exert some control over this trait, it could appear as rather mean.

You are best placed in governmental, municipal, political, or large business organizations where hierarchy is very exactly defined. The key word for your professional orientation is responsibility.

This position means, among other things, that you have a secret and powerful desire for psychological fulfillment and sex gratifications. However, Saturn presents many disappointments and problems in love affairs and you will be attracted to persons who are not easily within reach. In business matters it is not altogether good for speculation, but it gives you good prospects in investments in solid assets such as land, real estate or mines.

Note: Saturn is technically near the end of house 4 and is therefore interpreted in house 5.

Saturn in the Fifth House

Saturn was found in the fifth house at the time of your birth. Circumstances may oblige you to appear humble and patient in connection with love affairs and as a response to obstacles that will come between you and the object of your love.

It is possible that unless you can exert good control of your temperament, the obstacles can create a response from you that is harsh and severe. You must view these matters in light of the spiritual cause and effect.

We advise you to be very careful in business speculations and not to become involved in operations that have a risky element.

You should make an effort to become involved with the various human experiences of love so that your communicative power is increased. You must be sincere with yourself. Secretly you nourish the desire to be involved in human situations, but you apparently have lost the ability to relate to other people. A little more openness and confidence in your loved ones could be a good course to follow.

Note: Saturn is technically near the end of house 4 and is therefore interpreted in house 5.

Sun in the Eighth House

The Sun was found in your eighth house at the time of birth. This inclines your individuality to be oriented, in one way or another, to the deeper sides of life. Your sexual feelings are long-lasting, intense, and vital. Your inner self seems attracted to unusual matters related to the termination of life-death and its mysteries.

Traditional astrology indicates that near your middle age a crisis will rear its head in your life. If this period is successfully spanned you can expect a prolonged life with a gradual heightening vitality.

Financially, there are definite chances for money inherited from either your partner or from another relative.

Venus in the Ninth House

Venus was found in the ninth house at the time of birth. Your mind appears as very adaptable, gentle, peace-loving and tactful. This position indicates that the secret for your ability to reach a state of harmony and emotional balance may come through the use of your higher mental powers. You have been born with an exquisitely refined, artistic mind which has a very subtle appreciation of all that has to do with culture. Your disposition is kind, congenial, gentle and sympathetic and you have a natural ability to assist other individuals.

This position gives you much social intercourse with intellectual persons and success derived therefrom.

Merely minor disabilities will affect you in your intellectual endeavors. The worst that could happen would be an overly inquisitive, indecisive nature that never seems to be satisfied. However, you have within you the ability to avoid these psychological obstacles.

Note: Venus is technically near the end of house 8 and is therefore interpreted in house 9.

Moon in the Eleventh House

The Moon was found in the eleventh house at the time of your birth. You should be an individual with many friends and acquaintances, both from within and without your home and domestic circle. You are a person who can make friends in the highest social categories as well as with persons of an inferior status.

This position may also increase the possibilities of having a satisfactory family life and a very congenial domestic aspect with the potentiality of easily fraternizing with other people.

Oooh, the stuff I do all the time. We just had a lecture on Friday night that dealt with aspects... meaning the degree that one planet is measured away from another, ETC.
It's really super complicated and alot of people don't go past the initial silly sun sign column in a magazine, but when you really get into it like I have been for many years now, you see how much there is to learn. I'm still amazed at how much I can't even begin to comprehend and I've been studying it a long time.
To give you a tiny bit more info:

LIFE ... all of it, past, present, and future can be seen starting with a birth chart. The birth chart is set up based on the exact time, date, place of birth. It's a freeze frame of the universe on that moment you were born.
As the ancients followed the workings of the heavens.... observing occurances that happened over and over again, like the phases of the moon and the rising and setting of the sun and the time of year the sun was higher or lower and the times of year crops grew better and the way people reacted at certain times of year, patterns gradually developed.
For a long time, astrology was only used for royalty. The Magi were known to be astrologers.... Nostradamus...Ptolemy...etc.

As modern times came to be, more and more people started using it not only as a way to begin knowing themselves more, but others.
Presidents have used it to time events involving other countries, etc. It was reported that after Ronald Reagan was almost assassinated, Nancy got real friendly with an astrologer and timed many of his political events from then on based on opportune conditions. So many other famous people have used it too for a variety of reasons. Even Hitler had an astrologer... not to give him any personality info for himself but to find out what his enemies might be up to.

Anyway.....
so in modern times....
astrology is used for lots of things. Some people use it to help them understand themselves better, to see how they might relate to others and others to them....psychology type stuff. It's used for financial assistance, for business timing, for medical information, ETC.
A chart can be cast for anything.
The setting up of a chart is based on mathmatics and on astronomy.
It's calculations of where things are in the sky, the distance between those things, etc. Originally, astrology and astronomy were one, later they branched off to different forms of astronomy and to different forms of astrology.
Astrology is when you take the calculations and give them a meaningful description. This is where the art form comes in. Not every person will read the chart in the same way. Some astrologers follow older methods still and some use it in addition to psychological info.

Initially, the ancients must have noticed that when the Sun traveling across the sky, moved thru the constellation of Aries, the Ram, certain things were noted. The season was changing. The weather was changing. It became known as the Spring Equinox. During Spring, they observed that new growth was taking place, flowers, trees, life was bursting forth. They probably noticed that people had a way about them too. Maybe they were quick to start a new adventure, they got that first taste of Spring fever. So Aries is seen as the first sign, the sign that starts the Spring season. A sign that is associated with assertiveness, the beginning of things etc.

So in a birth chart, where you find Aries is where you might be likely to act that way.

Well, it's complicated to say the least.....
but it can just be a general personality guide. And knowing a little bit about the signs and how they might apt to be you can sometimes get and idea about a person. Example....
someone with alot of Gemini in their chart might be extremely curious, well-read, disliking routine, chatty, fickle, etc.
If you are a person who needs more stability then maybe that type of person isn't for you.
It's really not as simple as that tho as we all have areas in our chart where we may be very stable and we all have every sign represented in the chart somewhere. It's a matter of blending all that information whether in just reading about yourself or trying to find out what type of person we're best suited to.

Sooooo.....
what was it that you didn't understand about the report you posted??

In astrology.... the rising sign is the sign that was rising on the horizon at your moment of birth. So it's your first experience of the world....how you might have viewed things when you were very young. It's how others see you before they really get to know you.
Capricorn (also my rising sign) says that maybe you find the world a little harsh. Sometimes people don't see you as the fun and kind person you really are inside. And so on.
Each planet/luminary represents something....
The Moon, our emotional nature.
Mercury, how we communicate.
ETC.
So what an astrologer does when reading a chart is long and complicated and some do it very well and can see patterns and combinations very quickly and are wonderful at judging how it all comes together.
Others might do it more in a psychic way.
But it all comes down to looking at the birth chart symbols, interpreting the meaning and trying to see how a person might be inclined to use the energy patterns available to them. As with everything in life, there is a positive and negative side to things. Each planet/sign/house has both. So it sometimes takes a bit of work to see how that person is using the energy.
Some use it very negatively like Jeffrey Dahmer. Some become Mother Theresa types. Some Donald Trumps, others go insane. We've all got certain possibilities during different times so astrology helps people find the best times to do certain things.

Well, I could go on and on and on as you can see.
I find it fascinating, but I do not live my life by it. I am aware of certain things. I know how those around me are occasionally known to be about stuff and I try to let them be themselves and hope others don't find my personality too harsh to deal with either. I act different ways with different people. It's not about being phoney, it's just about figuring out others comfort levels and then staying within range of that for the best possible relationship.

That's it for now. Ask any questions you might want and if I can answer or give an opinion I will.

Peace, Mary

Mary,
I just wanted to see what I could learn about myself with this, But it seems so many things are almost contradictory. Then things like this "However, Saturn presents many disappointments and problems in love affairs and you will be attracted to persons who are not easily within reach. " and this "Circumstances may oblige you to appear humble and patient in connection with love affairs and as a response to obstacles that will come between you and the object of your love." show up, and I am thinking "Wow, how do they do that? How can the stars possibly know?" LOL. I just wanted to get more insight into why I have so many weird unexplained modd swings, and maybe to know if I ever get the Man of my dreams..LOL, do the stars tell that? Hugs, Dawn

Greencookie,
No problem Hon, here ya go... http://www.astro.com/horoscopes/ahor.asp?cid=1vyfiles4cqdl-u1192991518 I spent quite some time there reading alot about myself. It is scary how close so much of it is, but you have to take it all with a grain of salt, those are automatic responses... Maybe I will go get my chart done by someone who is focusing on just me. And maybe get the Tarrot read for me too... I do stuff like that a lot when I was younger, if you get someone who really knows what they are doing, you can learn alot about yourself. Have fun. Hugs, Dawn

Hi Dawn,
Yes, things seem contradictory because the birth chart is set up for the actual birth time/place and the combinations of planetary aspects are all laid out at the same time. The computer that generates the report can only provide you a description based on what it's programmed to give. So you are reading some generalities, while some things tend to hit right on. In addition to the planetary combinations at birth, you are continually living, the planets are continually moving and that isn't taken into account on some programs. They are simply for basic personality readings. Prediction is a whole different area. Concluding how you are using the energy patterns available from time to time has to be determined. We are inclined to be certain ways about certain things based on our birth charts, but in every instance we are still able to use free will to make changes or make other choices. Not that one can just decide they will be a millionaire... as if it isn't in the chart, it isn't in the chart, but one can certainly learn skills to help provide them a decent living, etc., etc.

Also, imagine if a guy had very similar birth information as you did but he moved far, far, away and was raised on a remote island somewhere by the natives. He'd be reading some of the same information and most of it would not be accurate and therefore would conclude that astrology doesn't work. Not true.
An astrologer, a good astrologer, will take alot of things into consideration when meeting with you... maybe some heredity stuff, location, where you are living now, ask you some questions. The best way is when you are either on the phone or in person so there can be some interaction. And on the phone, I don't mean a 1-800 dial-a-psychic type line. There are amazing astrologers out there, but also ones who will take your money and give you little info.
While some astrologers are psychic, the basis for understanding the chart and how to read and interpret it can be learned by many people and having some sort of e.s.p. is not a prerequisite at all. We're not all Sylvia Browne types, certain skills can be learned by anyone.

Because everything can be seen in the chart it's a matter of knowing what to look for based on what a client wants to know. So if it is relationship information one is interested in, that is the focus, or health, work, family, or a combination.
Unfortunately, a really good astrology consultation is pricey.
I know those who run around 80 bucks for about an hour all the way to the 150+ range. Not that a person who has devoted their life to learning the craft isn't deserving of making that income, but it's just unaffordable for some people... myself included.
I couldn't read my own chart as how could I be objective about things I saw. But just because I am involved in the astro community I am not really given any courtesy with regard to fees. I would have to pay them too and cannot afford it. So I've only ever had a couple mini-readings sort of for general info. and to help me learn.

To try and answer your question...you came here to experience certain things...IMO...
and if one of those things was to have difficulty in regard to love and affairs of the heart then you will probably always have that to deal with. Now, as I mentioned, there are certain times when the living person and the orbiting planets have a better/worse energy combination, it's an astrologers job to try and find out when the best time is for you to experience pleasure in love relations or the type of person best suited to you with regard to your goals.
I know you are fairly confidant that you know who the man of your dreams is.... but what does his birth chart say? If his chart does not jive with yours then if you got together it might be nice in some areas but very very difficult in others and we all have things that we will deal with and things we won't. Sometimes the idea of someone is very different from the actual physical experience of them too. Alot is taken into consideration.
Example:
One of my girlfriends has a heavy emphasis of Aries in her chart. She is quite the go-getter with stuff.... taking classes, learning new things continually, being involved in all sorts of activity, etc. Her husband is not so like that. He is more content to be home, keeps few friends, tries to find stability at his job, etc.
The two of them fight like warriors at times. Knock down, drag out battles. Talk of ending things more often than I remember.
But they have a certain combination of planets... maybe it's a Mars/Venus thing... can't remember offhand, but it's powerful. They have THEE BEST SEX I've ever heard about. The shit she tells me.... ooh la la.
Anyway, that seems to be so strong that it helps them get thru the other stuff that lesser couples couldn't bear. I don't quite understand it, but at the same time am impressed by it. They have an incredible passion that keeps their love alive. But if they didn't have that.... I really doubt they could make the other stuff work.
Okay... been rambling on long enough. Sorry to comment soooo long but astrology is one of those subjects that is very deep and the information you can get is never ending.
Have a great day, Dawn.
Peace, Mary
